Dear Friend,
We appreciate your interest in
your child’s education and the Whidbey Island Waldorf School.
Our school was founded in 1985 and is one of 800 schools in 45
countries (over 100 in North America).
We serve children from Preschool through Grade Eight.
Please note that we accept children on a first-come basis, so
early enrollment is advised.
We hope this website and the information
we have presented will give you a feel for our school and will be
helpful to you in deciding if our school is right for your child(ren).
You are encouraged to familiarize yourself further with the
unique features of Waldorf Education by attending open houses and events
at our school and in the community, and by reading books available from
the library or our school store.
Our early childhood, elementary
and middle school programs are designed to meet the needs of children in
each phase of their development as students journey through an
artistically integrated, academic program where they are nurtured –
body, soul and spirit.
As you may know, South Whidbey
is one of the jewels of the Pacific Northwest!
Its unique location offers a calm atmosphere, with beaches, trails and
easy access to several national forests, yet it is only one hour from
the cultural life and opportunities of the Seattle area.
The school is five minutes from the ferry dock.
Our grounds, which include a beautiful building and cleared
grassy play areas, are set amidst a forest of tall firs and cedars on
100 acres of ecological trust lands.
We transport children by school
bus to and from the ferry terminal in Clinton each day.
They ride the ferry with an adult supervisor to attend our
school, currently traveling from as far away as Bothell.
We are always delighted to speak
with you personally if you require further information, have questions,
or would like to arrange a visit to the school.
We look forward to meeting you and your family.
Warm regards,
Christine Butler School Administrator
